IN 1978 my dad bought an old 1965 ducati and its been sitting in the garage ever since. Im 18 now and decided to get it out and try and get it going. My cousin came over and we spent the day cleaning out the gas tank and carb because there was fuel left in it for 30 something years and we kicked it and it started no problem. We drove it around the block all afternoon and found a couple of issues. It doesn't idle, we tried to clean out the pilot jet but its seized into the carb assembly and now we can't get it out to clean so we aren't sure if thats the issue or if the carb needs some tuning. We also don't have back breaks and the front break is very weak. Any help would be super helpful we will take any advice.

Carb should probably be disassembled and soaked in carb cleaner or ultrasonic bath to clear out idle circuit.

But idle mixture screw needs to be operable, how 'bout some pix ?

Wheels will have to be removed to check shoes & drums, more pix pls.

Chris , Sorry that nobody replied so far ! Try Kleen-flo combustion chamber cleaner
it has naptha and will turn a "green" jet into nice bright bronze . Wash that out with brake cleaner
and compressed air . And repeat .

'old red dog', I was answering 'austen34's' post - this would be much less confusing if people would use their real names...

No word back from 'austen34' - guess u must've gotten the bugs worked out, OR (more likely) gave up on the project for now, which is what I generally do when running into big problems.

Let me know if u start looking into it again...
