Mach 1 tanks

Postby Ken Lippett » Thu Mar 23, 2006 1:50 pm

Does anybody know if Ducati bought their lfuel tanks from an outside supplier?
If Duc did what other brands used the parts?
How can I cross reference the parts?

Ducati built the engines & assembled the bikes. Frames, wheels, brakes, supsension, body work, electrics etc. came from outside suppliers. Most of the outside supplier stuff was unique to Ducati. Exceptions were the forks, shocks, brakes, some electrical, some gas caps. You won't find a Mach 1 tank on another brand. Did you contact Henry Hogben?

Yes,
I talked to Henry yesterday, he said he would have to see the tank I am looking at, I have contacted the seller and asked for better pics and pics of the underside. According the Henry there are tanks that are similiar to the Mach 1. What I have found looks like the one, however it was on a Bennelli, hence my question about Italian suppliers. I don't think it would be much of a stretch that a supplier would sell to tdwo comapanies at the sam time
