Need Starter Solenoid for 750 F1

Steve, the Lucas solenoid is the same as used on the MGA, and probably many other English cars. You can get one from any British car parts supplier, if you want another unit that's going to fail.
The best thing to do (cheapest, too) is to buy a Ford solenoid. Don't have a part # (mine's marked UNI609 12V). It even has the mounting bracket! Bring your old one to the parts store for comparison.

Posted: Fri Jun 15, 2007 9:12 amIn real life I'm an electronics engineer. Believe me, I've made many voltage-to-smoke converters in my life! This one must have had all the smoke let out at the factory though.
