Exhaust Threads

Does anyone know where I can get the threads repaired in the exhaust port? 2nd one off e-bay was as bad as the one on the bike.
Thanks in advance, oh I'm the Calgary area, if that makes any difference.

Re: Exhaust Threads

Hello T3515,
This is a repair that I had done to my Moto Morini sport a couple of years ago.It might work on your Ducati. It's not cheap.the big cost is the Tap.Bore the exhaust port oversize and thread it to larger threads. Then have a new exhaust nut made to the larger diameter along with a larger copper gasket. Not cheap but way better than inserts that never work because of the heat expansion.

Re: Exhaust Threads

I repair stripped exhaust threads on singles. I bore out the threaded portion of the port, make an aluminum threaded insert, install it & weld it in so it can't move, and there is heat transfer to the flange nut. My oldest repair is now 10 years old & still good. I charge $150.00 plus shipping. If you're interested, e-mail me at tinduc@niagara.com
