Generally a wash of rust.
I think I'll want a silencer, and header.
Speedo missing.
Any suggestions.

Seriously though, need more of a description of the condition.....cosmetics are easy and should be done last. Assess the condition of the engine first (Fran is probably only an hour or two away from you and might chime in), the running gear is easy to dismantle, clean, inspect and renovate. Once you have a roller with a decent engine the rest of the stuff is relatively easy.

I intend to restore it.
I particularly need a speedo. Domiracer seems the place unless anyone has a better idea or a used one.
I may re-chrome the header and silencer.
The engine's not seized and has compression.
I have read most posts wrt the 250/350's on DOCC, and DUCATI.MS

Seems like selector mechanism will need some "tuning".

I expect the engine to be OK, but I will investigate/inspect it.

So does anyone know where to get a speedo, and where to re-chrome the exhaust pieces?

When the 150mph speedo on my Sebring went titsup I got an NOS 100mph Veglia unit from Cosmo

Works fine, more accurate and looks semi-stock (no "Ducati" on the face). It was cheaper a few years ago (about half). You also won't experience the amusement of having people ask "WOW, will it really go 150 miles an hour?"

When I restored my Monza (now years ago), I started with a lot of buying new bits and pieces (anyone remember Eurosport in Portland Oregon? Got lots of neat bits from them!). However, as your network expands you can find great deals for stuff that doesn't have to be new.....

I rechromed my header pipe at the Plating House in North Toronto, but I don't know if they are still around. Rechroming the muffler might be tough as platers don't like the gunk from exhausts in their plating tanks. Besides, the stock muffler is very restrictive!
