996 Running Rough...

I just bought a 1999 Ducati 996 with Carbon Termignoni's and a Ducati Performance Chip installed. The problem is at 4000rpm and below the bike runs very rough, the throttle feels jerky.
Any ideas on what I can do to fix this ? Thanks in advance. :D

Here are a few clues :

- Check spark plugs condition, on my bike had the same symptoms you mentioned and it was due to one bad spark plug on horizontal cylinder.

- Throttle Body sync may have to be performed : quite easy to do if you have vacuum gauges.

- If the above does not work for you, you may want to check the CO : has to be between 3 and 6 % for proper running (NOT for environmental concern though)

- Don't know if you have a lighter than stock flywheel, if thats the case, idle is always a bit rough.

- Last solution, but wait for other members feedbacks on this, I heard the dual injector config coupled with the 1.6M computer was far from ideal. Check this for more info :

Maybe other members can confirm some of my thoughts.

I meant check the carbon monoxyde proportion out of your exhaust cans. You need a gastester to do that, and there is a trimmer inside the ECU to make the bike richer or leaner. Like I said somewhere between 3 and 6 % is what you're looking for.

Best,

Alex.
