I am changing my fork springs (non-adjustable) in a Ducati Monster 800 with
raceteck springs. Do they need to be the same length as stock.
Right now they are 3/4" smaller. Do I need to cut a shim for them.
Any help would be appreciated..

This may not be problem. You can use the variation in length to control the sag or preload of the front end. There are various rules about the amount of sag as a percentage of the total travel. There are many articles on how set the reload for your weight etc. on the web.

You can make a preload spacer from pvc pipe with the correct diameter, available at the hardware store. The preload adjusters on adjustable forks are convenient but do the same thing.
