PIAA lights
Does anybody have any experience/opinions regarding changing the stock Ducati headlight bulbs to PIAA high performance bulbs? PIAA claims to get the equivalent of 110watts of light from a bulb using the same power as a 55 watt bulb.

PIAA Lights
I installed PIAA lights in my 2002 748. I bought them thru my local moto shop who uses parts canada. I put a super plasma #H3 70335 in low beam light and a Xtreme white plus # H1 70165 in my high beam. They give a lot more light at night and the low beam is a lot more noticable in the day because of the blue tinge in it - a lot like BMW car lights (HID)

I bought the PIAA bulb (low beam) as well but didn't put it on. I was looking at the headlight wires and they are so thin! I was afraid that it will burn the wires or fry the charging system. Ducatis are not known for their charging system so I am a bit skeptical.
Any more testimony out there? cause I can use the extra brightness.

PIAA lights
I went ahead and put PIAA bulbs in my ST2 and as Sean said, the light on low beam is more distinctive for daytime riding and the high beam is slightly brighter. No problems with the wiring or charging systems.
