blue pipe.
Well as it says in the subject. I have a 1998 916 and it works awesome!
last winter i boght and installed a set of ncr titanium slip on's still running the stock exhost as a 45mm .
any way as the last year has went buy ,mosport in may ,calabogie ,and mosport 2.The left pipe going into the muffler is turning a very cool color of blue.the rite is not !
I am thinking the lt pipe must be running hotter than the rt ,OR could it be a air leak into the slip on pipe from the cross over tubes??
The bike works amazingly well and pulls like a fright train.i would have never even noticed accept for the titanium .
any thoughts??
THANX

Re: blue pipe.
Is the left pipe being fed by the rear cylinder? The rear cylinder and exhaust is probably running a little hotter than the front due to its position, though I don't know if the temperature difference would be enough to cause discoloration while the other pipe remains normal.

Re: blue pipe.
Just a up date ,i was going over the 916 as standard maintenance before it's last track day at T.M.P.
I found some things ,first of was a broken ex host spring (seams to eat them)laying on the back of the transmission. No big deal i stock extras being a 916 owner!
2nd up was a port/bung plug and as luck would have it from the pipe that was ,, you gassed it turning blue laying in the belly pan.
Pays to look in the belly pan .
